Find a time everyone is free

Share busy blocks with a circle, see theirs, and pick a time without a group thread.

What this is

Getting six people in a room usually costs four days of group-chat archaeology. This replaces it: share your availability with a circle, see theirs on the same calendar, pick a night that already works.

Before you start

Understand exactly what is shared, because it is less than people assume.

Tether reads busy blocks only. It sees that you are unavailable from two to four on Thursday. It never sees what the event is, never sees where it is, and never sends either anywhere. There is no version of this that leaks a calendar entry, because the titles are never read in the first place.

Steps

  1. Open Plan and turn on availability sharing.
  2. Choose which circles can see it. It is per circle, like everything else.
  3. Open Who is free to see the same view for people who have shared with you.
  4. Pick a time and turn it into an event from there.

What to expect afterward

You see a merged picture of the circle rather than a pile of replies. People who have not shared their availability simply do not appear in it — nothing is inferred about them.

The lookahead window is 30 days on the free plan and 90 days on Tether+.

Troubleshooting

Someone is not showing up. They have not shared availability with a circle you are both in. Sharing is per circle and always deliberate.

My calendar is not showing. Tether needs calendar access from iOS to read busy blocks. Check Settings → Apps → Tether.

I want to share with one person, not a circle. Make a circle with one person in it. Circles are the unit of sharing throughout Tether, deliberately — one mental model, not two.

Stay reachable to the people who matter.
